Take on the tour to ‘Pink City’ of Jaipur with its chaotic bazaars and palaces. Next, You’ll sail down the Ganges in St. Varanasi at dawn, walk through Orchha’s quiet riverside town and get an eye-catching glimpse of Khajuraho’s erotic temples
Today you will head to Delhi airport for your international departure. You can take it easy and relax in the hotel or head out and buy some last-minute souvenirs here.
Today you’re collected from your hotel in Delhi and transferred to the airport. You’ll take a flight to Kathmandu from here.
You will undertake the early morning flight to Lukla from Kathmandu which is approximately 35-40 minutes. The airport is based at a height of 2,860m (9383 ft) with a luxurious spread of traditional Sherpa shops, lodges and catering houses. After a short flight to Lukla, you shall scale downwards to Phakding (2,652m/8700 ft), a small village residing in the south of Monjo and north of Lukla. This is a straight-forward trek with no issues of altitude sickness. You shall follow the river trail of Dudh Koshi and move to Chheplung (2700m). Through horizontal and vertical walking, you finally reach your destination Phakding village.
By following the path of Dudh Koshi River and crossing five suspension bridges you will reach Namche Bazar. From Phakding you shall move to the upwards altitude, hence you make our way to Jorsale through the pine forest of Monjo. Your next lookout after Jorsale is Sagarmatha National Park, which is in the Khumbu region.
Throughout the journey of Namche Bazar, you will be accompanied by the flowing river of Dudh Koshi and a popular suspension bridge built in the name of the Everest ascender Sir Edmund Hillary. On the way, we may spot Red panda, Thur, Himalayan Yak, and many more.
Namche Bazar is the major trading centre of the whole Khumbu region and is based at an elevation of 3440m (11,284ft). The place is densely populated and is the first acclimatization destination of the trekkers. The place is well equipped with electricity, internet and local & international cafes.
A much-needed rest day for all the trekkers. To cope with the altering altitude a kind of drill is scheduled for the day. So, light trekking is conducted, where it takes you to Thame, a Sherpa village, or to the town of Khumjung, Khongde, and Khunde. This is a three-hours hike which will further take you closer to the tradition & culture of Sherpa community, Sherpa museum, chorten, the Buddhist monasteries, the living style and practice of the Khumbu region.
The real trekking fun begins from Namche Bazar. your next closer destination from Namche shall be Tengboche monastery. We shall walk in the stone steps to reach the Mongla Pass (3,975m) which is above the Dudh Koshi river. On the way you shall be treated with the amazing views of Mt.Nuptse, Mt. Ama Dablam, Mt. Khumbila and Mt. Lhotse.
While walking the rough paths we shall cross the high bridge of Phunki Tenga (3250m), and the most worshipped monasteries of Tengboche. The ascending trails can be tiresome but once you reach there you get to further explore the Eco-Center and the shops outside the Tengboche monasteries. It is believed that for 19 days a huge meditation fair is conducted in Tengboche. You will move ahead to the spectacular location Deboche, a steep glaciated valley, where we shall be spending an overnight.
Through the lustrous Alpine forest, you move on towards Dingboche, which is situated at an elevation of 4,369m (14,300 ft). On the way, you shall pass by several highland villages, rhododendron forests, and a bridge in Imja Khola River. Further, you shall traverse the plains, valley walls and larger settlements of Pangboche village. The closer landscape in this area is dry and deserted while the pristine view of the Himalayas gets closer. Passing via the Khumbila Khola valley, you will encounter the jaw-dropping scapes of Mt. Nuptse, Mt. Taboche and Mt.Cholatse. As you move forward, slowly the tree lines start to get replaced by the shrubs. On arriving Dingboche (4,360m/ 14,300 ft) we shall cross Lobhuche river and be greeted by the fields covered with buckwheat and potatoes.
Most of the trekkers think the day of acclimatization to be a complete day off. But that isn’t the case. Daybreak is kept in between to make you familiar with the higher-level trek, and altitude.
You shall trek up the steep mountains, rocky trails, towards the northern section of Dingboche i.e. Nagkartshang Gompa. A three hours trek is planned for this day where we shall mount the nearby valleys and Pheriche. You will also visit the Himalayan Rescue Association, to get a medical checkup, and information on high-altitude. Followed by the training session, we get to see the 360 extensive views of Mt.Makalu, Mt. Ama Dablam, Mt.Lhotse and Mt. Cho Oyu.
The trail goes steeply towards Dugla, traversing Chorten and the terminal moraine of the Khumbu glacier. On the way, you shall trace the pleasant view of Thukla glacier and frozen river. While climbing you will reach Chukpo Lari, a poignant place where tribute is given to those trekkers who lost their life on Everest.
Lobuche is a small place settled in the elevation of 4,940m (16,210 ft). The village sits at the foot of Mt.Lobuche. Though the destination to Lobuche is difficult, the surrounding snow-capped mountains keeps us motivated. As you reach the destination, you shall be welcomed by the cold chilly wind, but the striking gigantic of mountains will pacify us for the following day’s journey.
This is the most awaited trek, as the whole plan revolves around reaching the Everest Base Camp (EBC), which is at the altitude of 5,364m/ 17,594 ft. Before landing in EBC, you move towards Gorak Shep, the world’s highest settlement, which is 5,170m (16,961 ft) high. The trial starts from the in-between of glaciers, and drylands. The trek to Gorak Shep lasts for nearly 2 hours and keeps the trekker’s eye intact on the glamorous Mt.Everest (8848m), Mt. Nuptse and other gleaming mountains.
Trekking to Everest Base Camp is filled with adventures and slowly you shall pace to achieve it. A few hours of hike and you reach the EBC, at an altitude of 5,364m. We spend a few hours, take shots of the majestic Himalayas, and then we return to Gorak Shep.
To reach the Kala Patthar (Black rock) a lot of positive energy and enthusiasm is needed. The only agenda of travellers to reach there is to see the pinnacle of Everest. The time taken to reach is approximately 2-3 hours. As you walk, the gradients of the mountainsides increase, and the chilliness of the atmosphere too.
Comfortably you will climb up the Lingtren, Changtse, and Khumbutse mountains and get the spectacular view of the summit. After spending a few hours, you shall walk back to Gorak Shep. As this is the last day at Gorak Shep we shall spend a few minutes and walk back to Pheriche for the night stay.
Known as the windiest area of Khumbu region, Pheriche is positioned in the elevation of 4,371m (14,340m) right above the Tsola River. The area is occupied by the Himalayan Rescue Association (HRA). The area is used as the evacuation point and relief centre.
Today you shall leave back 2000m, and walk the trails filled with Rhododendron, Juniper trees and cross the Dudh Koshi river. As the path connects Sansa, again you get to enjoy the glimpse of Mt. Ama Dablam, Mt. Nuptse. From the drylands, you shall descend to the forest-covered areas and then take a final halt at Namche Bazar, where you can un-discover the previous left out major areas.
The trip begins from the rocky terrain. The hike takes nearly 6-7 hours to reach Lukla. The flowing river Dudh Koshi will be followed as a trial. On the way, you shall encounter the ornamented prayer flags of Buddhism, Gompas, Mani Walls and Chortens. We shall cross several suspension bridges, woods, monasteries, and small villages, before finally landing at Lukla. The destination will be the final halt point for the day. The rest of the day can be explored by the individual itself.
From Lukla, you shall again board the flight to Kathmandu. On arrival, after a short refreshment break, you shall move with our plan of a short city tour. From the narrow roads of Asan Bazaar and Indrachok, you shall take you to the courtyard of Basantapur.
Ason and Indrachok are the two famous places for demonstrating Newari traditions. The place is filled with souvenir shops, grocery & spice stores, traditional brass stores, and clothing stores. The area is always vibrant and crowded.
The Kathmandu Durbar Square is listed in the UNESCO World Heritage Sites and is the former royal palace of the Kantipur kingdom. Though built by the Malla dynasty, the Shah regime inherited it and now, the palace is turned into a museum. The square is surrounded by different craftsmanship and pagoda-style temples. This short trip will definitely be a “Walk to Remember”! In the evening we go for a farewell dinner to share our experience, good feedback and memory.
Today, we shall bid you farewell and drop you back to Tribhuvan International Airport.
